Fault Passage( sensor)Indicator. FPI. ||Uses and Working

Fault Passage Indicator.

In other words it is also called as:-
Fault sensor indicator.
Line fault Indicator.

A fault indicator is a divice which provides visual or remote indication of a fault on the electrical power system. It is also called a faulted circuit indicator.(FCI).

It is used to detect fault and its location by the use of RSU of overhead and underground electrical lines fault.

RANGE:-
Short~Circuit Trip Current (Phase to Phase): Adjustable: 100/200/300/400/500/600/700/800/900/1000/1100/1200 A (110%) **

Earth-Fault Trip Current (Phase to Ground) : Adjustable: 10/20/30/40/60/80/100 A (¢10%) **

Short-circuit Response Time: Adjustable: 40/60/80/100/120/160/200/240 ms (+-100mSec)

Earth Fault Response Time: Adjustable: 40/60/80/100/120/160/200/240 ms (+-100mSec)

FEATURES:-
Programmable Earth fault pickup level (wide range 10A to 100A)

Indication of earth-fault by blinking of Earth-fault LED

Programmable response delay for Earth-fault

Up-to Two potential free contacts to indicate earth»fault. (remote indication for SCADA)

INSTALLATION EQUIPMENT:-

By the help of spring clamping rod the FPI Fault Passage Indicator can be installed in the live conductor..

RSU (Remote Switching Unit):-
See in the figure below 3 indicators can be installed in 3 phases if there is no fault then in the SCADA workstation and the indication should we shows green colour or no Fault.
If there is Fault in the line ,then Fault current flows in the conductor ,which occours the FPI gives signal to the RF GSM RTU and circuit breaker (CT) trips and the RF GSM RTU gives signal to SCDA workstation then through massage and calls the Fault information and location should be send to predifined lineman or substation..
The Falult Passage Indication can be installed in overhead lines as well as underground cables.

Why we can use FSI?
# With the help of fault passage indicator the exact fault location should we traced.
#It saves times.
#It saves manpower.
# It saves manpower so it can also save money.

ceramic /porcelian insulators . ||Manufacturing process.

MATERIAL USED FOR MANUFACTURING :- 1.clay. 2. Quartz . 3. Alumina . 4. Feldspar . These are covered with a smooth graze to shed water. INSULATORS are made from porcelain rich ion alumina are used where high mechanical strength required. PORCELAIN has a diectric  strength of about 4-10 kV/mm.  An INSULATOR is a material that does not conduct electrical current. Insulating materials include paper, plastic, rubber, glass and air. Vacuum is also an insulator, but is not actually a material. Most electrical conductors are covered by insulation. Magnet wire is coated with an extremely thin layer of insulation so that more turns or larger wire may be used in the winding of transformers etc. Insulators are generally rated at hundreds of volts, but some that are used in power distribution are rated as high as hundreds of thousands of volts. Insulators support and/or keep electrical conductors from making unintended contact with each other. USES Insulators  are us...
